My job as an independent college advisor is multifaceted. I am committed to helping students find the "best fit " college which requires a personal approach. In order to achieve this, I take great pleasure in getting to know and understand each student who walks through my door.
Another important aspect of college advising is to educate both students and parents on the changing landscape of college admissions. It's not just about grades and test scores anymore. There are many complicated factors that go into the current college admissions process.
Each year, I attend college conferences through New York Association for College Admissions Counseling and the Independent Educational Consultants Association. As an independent counselor, I am required to make annual college visits and stay well informed on current admissions trends in order to best serve my students. When I am not working directly with students, I spend my time visiting schools and taking campus tours. I also meet with admissions staff to learn about current topics regarding college acceptance rates and emerging admissions trends.
My love for education and my commitment to helping students and their families through the college application process is what I do best. Applying to college can be overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be!
